Jungle Nat: A Thatched Seaside Cottage Restaurant in Shenzhen

Creating a Relaxing and Delightful Atmosphere

Located on a high floor, the restaurant provides a view of the sea and skyscrapers in Shenzhen, as if it is a castle in the air. Taking this as inspiration, designers Li Liangchao and Huang Yuanman have transformed the space into a thatched seaside cottage.

The Jungle Nat restaurant in Shenzhen stands out with its unique concept of a thatched seaside cottage. The designers aimed to create a relaxing and delightful atmosphere, offering customers a break from the busy city life. To achieve this, they adopted smooth-edged white walls with concealed lights and incorporated natural materials such as bamboo and straw.

The use of natural materials and a limited color palette gives the space a simple and unadorned look, reminiscent of a cozy cottage by the sea. The designers carefully selected bamboo and straw to reduce the industrial feel and bring a touch of nature indoors. The result is a space that exudes tranquility and charm.

In the entrance, black bamboos create a sense of forest secrecy, while a curved wall and half-hidden hallway hint at the mystery awaiting inside. The bar counter, designed with earthy materials, further enhances the natural ambiance of the space. The designers paid attention to every detail to ensure a seamless integration of the thatched seaside cottage concept.

The Jungle Nat restaurant covers an area of 200 square meters and is situated in the bustling business area of Shenzhen, Guangdong Province. The project presented several challenges, including how to transform a busy urban location into a serene seaside retreat. However, Li Liangchao and Huang Yuanman successfully overcame these challenges, creating a space that transports visitors to a different world.

GS Design, the design team behind Jungle Nat, aimed to provide a space where customers can escape the demands of their busy lives. The combination of the thatched seaside cottage concept, natural materials, and a simple design approach achieves this goal. Visitors to Jungle Nat can enjoy a relaxing and delightful dining experience, surrounded by the soothing ambiance of a coastal getaway.

The Jungle Nat restaurant, designed by Li Liangchao and Huang Yuanman, is a testament to their creativity and attention to detail. By incorporating elements of nature and simplicity, they have created a unique dining destination that offers an escape from the urban hustle and bustle.
