In the development and design of Aquila, Emre Aydin drew inspiration from owners' lifestyles, the predator look of predator animals, and cutting-edge technology. Combining all of this in a 106m superyacht, Aquila boasts truly innovative features that set it apart from the rest.

Propulsion systems have become highly optimized over the past few years, with diesel-electric combinations in various configurations and setups gaining popularity. The goal is to increase efficiency and ultimately reduce emissions. Taking this discussion into an entirely new realm, we introduce Aquila, a fully aluminum yacht.

Aquila's technical specifications are impressive. With an overall length of 106.2 meters and a waterline length of 106.0 meters, it boasts a beam of 19.70 meters and an estimated GT of 4035. The yacht has a draft half load of 3.95 meters and can reach a maximum speed of 16.5 knots, with a cruising speed of 10-11 knots. Its range spans an impressive 3800 nautical miles. The electrical power generation is 4MV, sourced from PEM fuel cells and fueled by liquefied hydrogen. Aquila can accommodate up to 14 guests in 4 guest state rooms, 2 VIP state rooms, and 1 owner pavilion. The crew capacity is 29 persons, with 14 double crew cabins, 2 officers' cabins, and 1 captain's cabin. The yacht also comes equipped with a range of tenders and toys, including an 8.5m limo tender, an 8m tender, 4 wave runners, and 2 water toys.

Radical and futuristic, Aquila is a hydrogen superyacht that pushes the boundaries of what is possible at sea today. Its fully-operational liquid hydrogen and fuel cell technology power system sets it apart from traditional yachts. The Aquila project began in Istanbul in January 2020 and was completed in July of the same year. Extensive research was conducted to ensure the biomimicry-inspired exterior and interior design matched the liquid hydrogen technology and all other project requirements. The predator eagle served as the main inspiration for Aquila's curvaceous exterior lines, which flow across a viewing glass resembling an eagle's eye and wheelhouse, culminating in a spectacular Aquila room at the bow area, providing guests with unparalleled views and ultimate luxury.

The design of Aquila presented several challenges. The biomimicry approach required meticulous attention to detail, ensuring the predator eagle look was seamlessly integrated into the shipboard. Additionally, the liquid hydrogen technology had to be seamlessly incorporated into the design while maintaining the luxurious lifestyle expected on a superyacht.

To accentuate the link with the water, Aquila features extensive glass elements, allowing guests to enjoy breathtaking views of the ocean. The lower decks house a complete hydrogen-electric system, translating the usual parameters for propulsion, range, and speed into a comprehensively innovative superyacht experience.

Aquila's design has garnered recognition and acclaim. It was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Yacht and Marine Vessels Design category in 2021.
