Life: An Exhibition Hall Blending Asian Cultures and Modern Design

Blending Tradition and Innovation

Inspired by a fusion of Asian cultures and modern design, the Life exhibition hall, designed by Lely Guo, seamlessly combines classic humanistic traditions with contemporary aesthetics. This unique space showcases the beauty of shadow puppet art, green tea culture, and ancient architecture, while incorporating the colors of natural materials such as Qinling Mountain scenery, Lantian jade stone, and Weihe River water. The result is a harmonious blend of tradition and innovation, creating a captivating experience for visitors.

Spanning an impressive 1000 square meters, the Life exhibition hall stands as a testament to the power of cultural creativity. It is a celebration of art, design, and innovation, offering a glimpse into the rich tapestry of Asian heritage.

One of the hall's standout features is its ability to transport visitors to a serene and secluded space, steeped in oriental charm. As visitors enter, they are greeted by a mesmerizing display that combines metal, wood, and stone in the front desk area, creating a crystal-clear artistic ambiance. Natural light filters through transparent materials like glass, casting beautiful reflections and creating a sense of tranquility. The table tops, reminiscent of water ripples, play with light and shadow, adding to the ethereal atmosphere.

The Life exhibition hall is not just a static space; it is an interactive experience. The negotiation area, arranged symmetrically and scattered throughout the hall, exudes simplicity and elegance. The use of woodwork, reef-shaped lake tea tables, and clean ceramic wood carvings reflects the essence of Oriental aesthetics. The product exhibition area showcases the avant-garde Furnishing Art of blue city town, fusing nature and design in a harmonious blend.

Located in Weiyang District, Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province, the Life exhibition hall was completed in May 2019. The design process was not without its challenges. The designers had to find a delicate balance between traditional cultural elements and modern design techniques. They aimed to present traditional culture in a fresh and appealing way, without losing its inherent charm. Through in-depth research and collaboration with cultural research institutes, the design team successfully integrated traditional cultural elements and techniques into the space, creating a captivating and immersive experience for visitors.

The Life exhibition hall has been recognized for its outstanding design and creativity. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2021. This prestigious award acknowledges designs that demonstrate resourcefulness, technical skill, and a commitment to improving quality of life. The Life exhibition hall truly embodies these qualities, making it a must-visit destination for art, design, and culture enthusiasts.
