Super Box: Redefining Food Delivery with Innovative Packaging

Delivering Divan Restaurant's Quality to Your Doorstep

During the lockdown period in the coronavirus pandemic, Divan Restaurant in Turkey sought to bring their exceptional dining experience to customers' homes. With the Super Box, a new packaging design created by Musa Celik, the brand's vision of quality and sophistication is seamlessly delivered to customers even during quarantine.

The Super Box stands out from other food delivery packaging designs with its unique asymmetrical shape, making it easier for the Divan kitchen team to efficiently place and deliver orders. Each box is visually differentiated for various food groups, ensuring that the preparation of orders is seamless and hassle-free.

One of the standout features of the Super Box is the use of thermochromic ink in the packaging for hot food. This innovative ink changes color as the temperature decreases, providing consumers with a visual indicator of when their meal needs to be warmed. With this design, customers can enjoy their meal without the need for a table, enhancing the convenience and comfort of the dining experience.

The Super Box was meticulously designed to prioritize both customer satisfaction and the efficiency of the Divan kitchen team. Its modular structure allows for various combinations, making it easier to prepare and organize orders. Additionally, all packaging and tools are produced from biodegradable materials, ensuring that the packaging does not contribute to waste in nature.

Measuring at 370 mm x 370 mm x 55 mm for pizza and hot food, 480 mm x 185 mm x 53 mm for pide, and 250 mm x 170 mm x 100 mm for burgers, the Super Box is designed to accommodate different types of meals while maintaining its sleek and functional form.

The Super Box is not just a packaging solution; it is a complete experience. It provides a more reliable and eco-friendly delivery option, while also serving as a tray for hot meals. The separators in the pizza packaging prevent greasy hands, ensuring a clean and enjoyable dining experience. The thermochromic ink informs customers about the temperature of the food inside, guaranteeing that every meal is enjoyed at its best.

The Super Box project was carried out by Musa Celik, a creative director and designer based in Istanbul. The design process took place from April to June 2020, with extensive research and testing to ensure the functionality and effectiveness of the thermochromic ink.

The Super Box has received widespread acclaim and recognition for its innovation and practicality. It was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2021, a prestigious accolade that recognizes well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements. This award highlights the Super Box's integration of industry best practices, competent technical characteristics, and its contribution to a better world.
