X-Hale: A Creative Campaign Design by Yiwen Tu

Exploring the Possibilities of Art and Design During COVID-19

The pandemic has brought about unprecedented changes in people's lives, inspiring new and creative ideas to cope with the situation. In response to these challenges, designer Yiwen Tu presents X-Hale, a unique campaign design that explores the possibilities of art and design during COVID-19.

With the collaboration of Oh, Not Gallery and ISPVA, X-Hale is the first major virtual exhibition that showcases a series of live streaming conversations between artists and audiences worldwide. The visual design project encompasses various promotional materials such as logos, posters, banners, trailers, and graphic assets for live streaming.

The primary subject of X-Hale is a 2.5D structure, brought to life through the use of iridescent colors that evoke a sense of lightness, flow, and mystery. The design aims to create a peaceful breathing movement and fluidity to attract the audience's attention.

Utilizing 2.5D typography and the power of software like Photoshop and C4D, Yiwen Tu brings the X-Hale campaign design to life. The technical specifications include posters in a 3:4 ratio, Instagram posts in a square format, Instagram stories in a 9:16 ratio, and YouTube banners that vary based on the device.

Promoted on ISPVA.org and social media platforms like Instagram, X-Hale engages audiences through live streams on YouTube and bilibili. The design's intention is to provide a platform for artists to share their thoughts on how the pandemic has affected their careers and lives. By fostering meaningful conversations, dialogues, and Q&As, X-Hale explores the enduring possibilities of art and its role as a conceptual catalyst.

Despite the challenges posed by COVID-19, X-Hale embraces the opportunities presented by virtual platforms. By leveraging digital promotion and creating a sense of fluidity and the unknown, the visual design reflects the exhibition's theme and the dynamics brought about by the pandemic.

X-Hale has been recognized for its outstanding creativity and ingenuity, receiving the Bronze A' Design Award in the Graphics, Illustration, and Visual Communication Design category in 2021. This prestigious award acknowledges designs that embody experience, resourcefulness, and best practices in art, science, design, and technology. X-Hale contributes to improving the quality of life and making the world a better place.

Experience the captivating world of X-Hale and join the conversation on the enduring possibilities of art and design during these challenging times.
