With the rise of small apartments, the need for space-saving furniture has never been more apparent. Mubic, designed by Katalin Brigitta Csiki, is a modular table that addresses this need without compromising on aesthetics. Inspired by the challenges of modern living, Mubic can transform from a coffee table to a dining table for two, four, or six people, simply by rotating its legs.

What sets Mubic apart from other modular tables is its unique design. Unlike most tables that require disassembly or additional pieces to transform, Mubic's innovative design allows it to change forms without any extra components. This playful functionality, coupled with its clean and joyful appearance, makes it a perfect addition to any modern apartment.

Mubic's top is made from "A quality" spruce wood and is equipped with super resistant hinges. The legs are painted in an electrostatic field to ensure the paint remains in pristine condition for a long time. The table comes in four different positions, each catering to different needs and spaces. The coffee table measures h40 x W81.4 x D75cm, while the dining table can extend to h71 x W145 x D75cm to accommodate six people.

The creation of Mubic was not without its challenges. The most difficult part of the project was designing the custom-made part that allows the legs to rotate in different directions and ensuring the product's stability. Despite these challenges, Mubic was successfully crowdfunded in 2019 and exhibited at Cluj Design Days in 2017.

Mubic's innovative design and functionality have not gone unnoticed. In 2021, it was awarded Silver in the A' Furniture Design Award, a prestigious accolade given to designs that demonstrate outstanding expertise and innovation. This award is a testament to Csiki's commitment to creating unique and functional designs for modern living.
