Let's Play School: A Fusion of Education and Spring at Lotte World

Bringing the Joy of School and the Beauty of Spring to Life

The Lotte World 2020 Spring Festival introduces a captivating theme that combines the excitement of starting school with the vibrant energy of spring. Designed by Dodamteo, the Let's Play School installation showcases a unique fusion of school elements and the enchanting beauty of cherry blossoms. This immersive experience is carefully crafted to be enjoyed by visitors of all ages, making it a must-see attraction at the theme park.

The Let's Play School design stands out with its seamless integration of school and theme park spaces. By incorporating elements that evoke nostalgia and precious memories for adults, and providing a space for children to create new memories, Dodamteo has created a whimsical and fun-filled environment. The adorable characters in their charming school uniforms add an extra layer of delight, making visitors feel like they have stepped into a playful school attended by Lotty, Lorry, and their cute animal friends.

One of the highlights of the Let's Play School installation is the abundance of photo zones scattered throughout the theme park. These zones provide visitors with the perfect backdrop to capture their joyful moments and create lasting memories. From a school bus to a schoolyard, every corner of the installation offers a unique and exciting experience.

Technological innovation plays a crucial role in bringing the Let's Play School design to life. Dodamteo carefully considered the flow of visitors within the theme park, strategically incorporating captivating effects and designs to capture their attention. Dull spaces were transformed into interactive and engaging areas, while LED lights were used to create mesmerizing spatial effects after dark.

The Let's Play School installation features a variety of materials, including wood, paint, fomex, metal section structures, digital printing, artificial lawn and flowers, fabrics, LED lighting, and LED string lights. These materials were meticulously selected to ensure durability and enhance the overall aesthetic appeal of the design.

The Let's Play School project was a remarkable achievement for Dodamteo and its team members. Led by Art Director Jaesu Choi, the design and construction process involved close collaboration with Lotte World, the client, and illustrator Inhyuk Jo. The project commenced on March 7, 2020, at Lotte World in Seoul, Korea, and was successfully completed on June 7, 2020.

The Let's Play School installation not only offers a visually stunning experience but also provides visitors with fresh and unique pleasures and experiences. By combining the joy of school with the enchantment of spring, Dodamteo has created a truly immersive and unforgettable attraction at Lotte World.

This outstanding design has been recognized for its creativity and ingenuity. The Let's Play School installation was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Event and Happening Design category in 2021. This prestigious accolade celebrates designs that demonstrate exceptional technical and creative skills, contributing to improvements in quality of life and making the world a better place.
