The Green Breathe

The Green Breathe stands out with its unique use of low chroma colors and geometric shapes. The foundation of the design is built upon a palette of low chroma colors, such as grey, which creates a serene and calming atmosphere. The modern mansion features a titanium plated black frame, tawny glasses, brown baking paints, and grey paints, all coming together to establish a sleek and sophisticated aesthetic.

One of the standout features of The Green Breathe is the use of rectangular shapes as a connecting element throughout the space. For example, the wall behind the sofa is made of grey polypropylene board, configured in the golden ratio, and embedded with titanium plated metal in a black interlocked grain texture. This not only adds visual interest but also creates a sense of harmony between different areas of the room.

H Cube interior design, the team behind The Green Breathe, prioritized environmental friendliness and cleanliness in the construction process. Mexin boards were chosen for the public ceiling due to their flame retardant and sound absorption properties. The regular arrangement of the mexin boards creates a harmonious configuration between the living room and the corridor, further enhancing the overall aesthetic of the space.

The Green Breathe also incorporates unique design elements, such as the TV wall that extends the idea of picture frames. The wood texture and inclined edge of the frame emphasize the subject, while the embedded titanium parts and light bands create a serene and polished impression. The mottled texture adds depth and visual interest to the space.

By reorganizing the interior space according to the clients' living habits, The Green Breathe offers a functional and intuitive layout. The configuration of the restroom for guests has been narrowed to broaden the flow line between the dining room and the living room, creating a seamless transition. Additionally, the left shift of the corridor by 40 centimeters has visually widened the wall behind the sofa and the master bedroom.

The Green Breathe was completed in January 2020 in New Taipei City, Taiwan. The design was inspired by research on low chroma colors and the concept of picture frames. The use of grey and black tones creates a serene ambiance, while the lines and geometric shapes define the interior space. Colorful ornaments are strategically placed to add vibrancy and prevent the space from feeling too stiff.

The Green Breathe is not only aesthetically pleasing but also environmentally friendly. Ian Chen, the designer, underwent specialized training in Green Design to ensure the use of non-toxic materials and the creation of a healthy living environment. The design has received recognition and was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2021 for its well-designed and innovative approach.
