Xinhu Villa: A Fusion of Art Gallery and Home

Di Ren's Design Transforms a Spanish-style Villa into a Modern Artistic Sanctuary

The inspiration for the Xinhu Villa design came from the owner's desire to transform a traditional Spanish-style villa into a corner of idealism and tranquility. The villa, located more than 600 square meters away from Hangzhou's urban area, was to be a place where the owner could retreat and rest his heart in his spare time.

Di Ren's design team focused on functionality and aesthetic appeal in their approach. The porch, which is full of ritual feeling, is soft and pure like silk, and also serves as a gallery. The rational division of lines in space uses the organic integration of curves and straight lines to show the extraordinary temperament of the building.

The design is not only reflected in high-end materials and exquisite workmanship but also in its simplest form to express natural aesthetics. The team aimed to create a safe, quiet, and peaceful atmosphere. The project, which covers a total of 1700 square meters, started in March 2019 in Hangzhou and was completed in January 2020.

One of the challenges faced by the design team was the combination of minimalist design with Oriental Zen. Both of these design philosophies pursue the realm of "less is more". The designers successfully combined country houses and modern exquisite design to present a tranquility and stability in pursuit of natural balance, emphasizing a simple and comfortable feeling.

The fully functional kitchen and dining room are enough for a private banquet between friends. The light changes as the sun rises and falls in this house, which endows beauty with drama, and where there is light, there is scenery. This case is not only a house for living but also a tasteful art gallery. The design team hopes to express natural aesthetics in a simple form and create a quiet atmosphere.

The Xinhu Villa is a testament to Di Ren's ability to transform spaces into tranquil retreats that also serve as a testament to modern design and natural aesthetics. The design's recognition with a Silver A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2021 is a testament to its innovative and unique approach.
