Cuishan Intelligent Kitchen: A Fusion of Food, Culture, and Technology

Yu Pan's Award-Winning Design Merges Tradition and Innovation

The inspiration behind the Cuishan Intelligent Kitchen is the desire to preserve and promote Wuxi culture while incorporating the concept of 'Internet plus' into the design. The result is a unique space that breaks the boundaries between food, culture, and technology, creating an all-encompassing online and offline experience for patrons.

The design's unique properties lie in its successful fusion of different elements. It breaks away from the conventional food snack collection, the pure culture history museum, and the pure technology time exhibition. Instead, it reunites these three aspects, creating a new mode of experience that is both engaging and innovative.

Symbolism plays a significant role in the design of the Cuishan Intelligent Kitchen. The "Ginkgo" represents the long-standing culture of the Chinese nation and the brand culture of the Cui Shan Group. The "Swallow" is a symbol of good times, unique to the south of the Yangtze River. The "Cloud" is a symbol of nature and a portrayal of the realm of life. These symbols are woven into the design, giving the restaurant a strong cultural identity.

The Cuishan Intelligent Kitchen covers a total of 1770 square meters. The project started in April 2019 in Wuxi and was completed in October of the same year. The design team, led by Yu Pan and assisted by Hong Zhang, faced the challenge of breaking the boundary between the snack collection of pure food, the History Museum of pure culture, and the era exhibition of pure technology, and reconnecting the three together.

Through the Cuishan Intelligent Kitchen, more people will understand the cultural core and spirit of Wuxi. This is achieved through the spread and coverage of the Internet, promoting the development of the city. The design is a testament to the power of innovation and the importance of preserving cultural heritage in modern design.
