The logo, a green tea leaf with a heart in the middle made by negative space, is a testament to the brand's core value - "Love for Matcha". The leaf symbol sits firmly on a letter "M", creating a Matcha Me icon that is used across all packaging. The letter "A" has been modified to follow the same shape as the top area of the leaf symbol, creating a consistent and balanced look.
Matcha Me's identity represents its true core; best tasting Matcha powder and a big love for Matcha tea. The new brand design reflects the main element "love for Matcha" at its heart and carries the symbol into the packaging design. The brand has a green colour palette inspired by the original Matcha powder tones and a pattern made out of the brand symbol.
Despite the challenges of working with a young company still discovering its core values, Berezneva was able to create a brand identity that truly reflects Matcha Me's mission and values. The result is a fresh and clean approach that keeps "love for Matcha" at its heart.
This project, which started in April 2017 and finished in May 2017, was awarded Silver in A' Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design Award in 2018. The award is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that illustrate outstanding expertise and innovation.
Through her design, Berezneva has successfully conveyed the brand's values to the customer in a clear and modern form. The consistent use of colours and shapes across all elements further strengthens the brand's identity, making Matcha Me a standout in the market.
In conclusion, Daria Berezneva's design for Matcha Me is a testament to the power of a well-thought-out brand identity. It not only represents the brand's core values but also communicates them effectively to the customer. It's a love story in design, where the love for Matcha tea is at the heart of everything.
