Elegance House: Redefining Classic Aesthetics with Modern Flair

A Unique Residential Apartment Design by Chia-Lun Chan

Housing the classic and the luxurious yet not falling into the mundane, Elegance House breaks the existing classical framework. Majestic curves are implemented and decorated with rose gold, creating a uniquely elegant model. The design utilizes multiple materials, overlapping to create a corresponding and layered micro-luxury texture.

In terms of realization technology, the design team experimented with splashes of metallic spray on the roof in place of traditional moldings. On the stylized door, white wood veneers embody the layered beauty, accentuating the exquisite custom crafting and replacing easily-scratched sprays.

With a total area of 77 square meters, Elegance House features an entryway, living room, dining room, kitchen, bedroom, dressing room, two restrooms, and storage. The hallway exudes glamour with a black and beige marble pavement, hiding the master bedroom, guest bathroom, and closet behind three delicately sculptured doors. Spatial layering is expanded in the display cabinet through the use of brown glass and mirrors. The dwarf wall between the living and dining rooms separates use-cases while maintaining visual airiness, maximizing the limited room.

Completed in August 2020 in Taipei City, Elegance House required meticulous research and craftsmanship. The integration of romantic arc lines into elegant classical beauty was a key challenge. The design team collaborated closely with artisans, creating multiple models and engaging in continuous adjustment and discussion. The result was the successful creation of the main stylized door and the application of white wood veneer on the stack of layers.

Elegance House has been recognized for its excellence and innovation. It was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2021. This prestigious accolade is bestowed upon well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements. The design is respected for integrating industry best practices and competent technical characteristics, providing fulfillment and positive feelings, and contributing to a better world.
