Lu Zhao's inspiration for "Silent" stemmed from a deep sense of humanistic care and respect for individual differences. He sought to create a design that would not only cater to individual needs but also treat the disabled with a parallel perspective. His goal was to foster a greater understanding and respect for the disabled, thereby enabling them to better integrate into society.
"Silent" boasts unique properties that set it apart from other designs. It features a human-computer interaction system, allowing users to communicate simply through a manipulator. This innovative feature is a testament to Zhao's commitment to making daily life more convenient for people with disabilities and helping them integrate better into society.
The design was realized using acrylic and 3D printing technologies, demonstrating Zhao's adept use of modern design techniques. The design process took place in China in June 2018, with a team that included Chao Zhang, Xianghua Yin, Guanyi Yan, and Chong Yao, alongside Zhao himself.
Tagged under "sign language", "Silent" is more than just a design; it's a tool for communication. It operates through a manipulator, allowing users to communicate in a simple and effective manner.
