The design of the Yunlai cup draws inspiration from the flowing cloud lines found in the mid-latitude inland areas of the Northern Hemisphere. Siyu Liu, the designer, spent years researching hand-blown extra-thick glass frit and high-temperature sandblasting technology to capture the essence of these natural formations. The result is a cup that beautifully reflects the humanistic and artistic feeling of a specific geographical environment.

What sets the Yunlai cup apart is its combination of art and functionality. Made from heat-resistant glass using extra-thick glass-frit and high-temperature sandblasting techniques, the cup achieves a visual result of 70% light transmittance. The Yunlai cup was created in Guangzhou, China, and the project took place from January to June 2020. It was exhibited and included in Tmall's original design list, and it was made available for purchase online in September 2020.
