Res Zinniker's Noxx Bottle Design: A Darkly Illuminated Brew

Unveiling the Award-Winning Packaging Design Inspired by H.P. Lovecraft

The Noxx bottle design project began in January 2017 in Zug, Switzerland, and was completed in June 2018. The design's starting point was the name 'Noxx' and a black bottle. The design was printed directly on the glass, and a unique color was selected for each type in addition to white. The result was a series of eerie creatures that stimulate the imagination, as dark as night (Noxx).

The design's unique properties lie in its ability to attract and retain the consumer's attention. The packaging design is meant to be memorable in both name and appearance. The design's interaction is such that it immediately grabs attention and leaves a lasting impression on the consumer.

The design was realized through screen printing on glass. The technical specifications of the design include a Longneck Beer Bottle with a height of 226.5mm, a circumference of 189mm, and a printable area of 189x79mm.

The design process involved extensive research and a lively exchange with the customer. Various monsters were discussed, and many sketches were sent back and forth. The realization took place with Clip Studio Paint and Adobe Illustrator. The challenge was to convey the uncanny feeling onto the bottle, which required much work on the creatures' details and discarding various variants.

The Noxx bottle design has been recognized for its outstanding expertise and innovation. It has been awarded the Silver A' Packaging Design Award in 2021, a reward given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs. These designs are admired for their strong technical characteristics and splendid artistic skill, showcasing a remarkable level of excellence and introducing positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
