Oliveira Almeida: A Brand Identity Design

Creating a Memorable Symbol of Order and Tradition

Inspired by the daily responsibilities of lawyers, designer Ricardo Filipe Lopes da Silva has crafted a brand identity that combines nobility and order. The tie-shaped clip, a symbol of organization and practicality, represents the mission of Oliveira Almeida, a law firm dedicated to providing effective solutions to its clients.

Lawyers play a crucial role in society, interpreting laws and applying them to specific cases. This demanding profession requires a high level of organizational discipline and attention to detail. To capture the essence of this profession, the designer turned to a simple yet powerful symbol: the paper clip.

The tie-shaped clip, crafted in solid brass, not only holds papers together but also symbolizes order and tradition. By incorporating this everyday office tool into the brand identity, Oliveira Almeida ensures that its values are deeply ingrained in the minds of its clients.

The logo design, based on the Golden Ratio rule, follows a Phi grid order to create a harmonious and visually appealing representation of the brand. The use of Affinity Designer and Affinity Photo ensures the highest quality in both vector and photo montage elements.

Furthermore, the brand's visual identity extends beyond the logo. A carefully selected color palette, derived from the etymology of the firm's name, adds depth and meaning to the design. The name "Oliveira" evokes a range of green tones, symbolizing peace and victory, while "Almeida" represents earthy colors associated with stability and groundedness.

The tie-shaped clip serves as an invitation for clients to have a practical experience with the brand. It goes beyond the traditional symbols used by law firms, offering a unique and memorable interaction. The color palette, applied consistently across all media and office tools, reinforces the brand's presence and ensures recognition even in the absence of the logo.

The Oliveira Almeida brand identity project was completed in Curitiba, Brazil, from February 2020 to April 2020. Throughout the design process, the team overcame the challenge of creating unexpected symbols that represent law and order without losing the classic feel. The result is a brand identity that reflects the firm's mission and values while standing out in a competitive industry.

This exceptional design has been recognized with the Iron A' Design Award in Graphics, Illustration, and Visual Communication Design in 2022. This prestigious award acknowledges designs that are well-crafted, practical, and innovative, meeting professional and industrial requirements. Oliveira Almeida's brand identity exemplifies industry best practices and technical excellence, contributing to a better world.
