Linear Compositions

An Artistic Concept for an Optical Shop

The human eye likes contrast, contrast of colors, textures, and forms. The organ of vision determines whether something is beautiful or not. He notices rhythm, dominant, light, and shadow. The interior is built with a composition: linear, central, horizontal, vertical, rhythmic. What is important is the contrast between solid and light forms, a combination of contrasting colors, a smooth surface, and the structure of the wood. The product is presented "in the light" of the horizontal.

The Linear Compositions design by Natalia Klisko-Walczak is a unique and visually striking concept for an optical shop. Inspired by the human eye's love for contrast and the elements that determine beauty, this design focuses on composition, contrast, proportion, and detail to create a new and innovative interior arrangement.

The display forms in the shop are strategically located on the walls and consist of illuminated shelves at eye level and below, along with storage systems. The center of the shop serves multiple functions, acting as a place for customer consultation, a sales section, and an exhibition and storage area. This multifunctional form allows for efficient use of space while maintaining a visually appealing layout.

The display elements in the Linear Compositions design are made of a white semi-matt laminated board and a natural veneer board in the color of Antique Oak. The choice of materials adds to the overall aesthetic and creates a sense of sophistication. The floor is covered with a vinyl flooring specifically designed for public utility buildings with medium and high traffic intensity, ensuring durability and longevity.

With a total area of 57m2 and dimensions of 9.4x4.8x3.5m, the Linear Compositions design optimizes the use of a relatively small space to create a prestigious and visually appealing environment. One of the main challenges of the project was to design an optical shop that exceeded the standards of the investor's existing stores while also accommodating approximately 500 glasses frames for display.

The interior of the shop is designed to create a seamless interaction between the customer and the products. The customer and service zones intersect, allowing for a smooth and efficient shopping experience. The interior, like the products for sale, is perceived through the sense of sight, emphasizing the importance of visual appeal in both the design and the products themselves.

The Linear Compositions design was realized between December 2020 and February 2021. It is the result of extensive research on the perception of interior beauty, focusing on factors such as rhythm, contrast, structure, proportion, and detail. The design was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2022, recognizing its well-designed, practical, and innovative characteristics that meet professional and industrial requirements.

The Linear Compositions design by Natalia Klisko-Walczak is a testament to the power of composition and contrast in creating visually stunning and functional spaces. With its unique approach to interior design, this optical shop stands out as a true work of art.
