Creating an Environmentally-Friendly and Healthy Home

Inspired by its seaside location and the client's need for a respiratory-friendly environment, Grey with Curved is a residential design that seamlessly integrates nature and modern living. The aim was to create a space that not only offers stunning ocean views but also promotes the health and well-being of the client's family.

The four-story space features an open-plan design for the public areas, including the living room, dining room, and kitchen. This layout not only enhances the flow of traffic but also creates a visually extended effect, allowing natural light to flood the interior. The use of wooden pillars and cabinets with light guide outlets further enhances the play of light, creating a transparent and flexible space that preserves privacy.

The materials used in the design prioritize sustainability and eco-friendliness. Wood veneer, mineral paint, and marble adorn the walls, while dimming roller blinds provide privacy when needed. Customized LED lighting adds a durable and environmentally friendly touch to the space. Additionally, eco-friendly recyclable system panels were used for the entrance shoe cabinet and kitchen cabinet, reducing material waste.

Technical specifications include a ceiling height of 325cm, with a beam between the living room and dining room. The space between the beam and the ground is cleverly trimmed with woodwork arcs, creating a visually appealing feature. The design also incorporates rounded shapes to stylize the original structural columns, adding a touch of elegance to the space.

Grey with Curved not only showcases the designer's attention to detail and creativity but also overcomes challenges specific to its seaside location. The use of mineral paint required careful maintenance during construction to prevent discoloration and roughness caused by sand and dust. By keeping the windows and doors closed during painting and regularly cleaning the surface, the design team ensured a smooth and breathable finish.

This award-winning design by YuYen Interior Design has received the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category.
