Tiger Pan's Award-Winning Poster for UNAIDS 25th Anniversary

Derived from the "Book of Songs" and "Xunzi," the theme of the poster encapsulates the essence of courage, determination, and the relentless pursuit of goals. The phrase "The road before us is long and hard, persist, and success shall be in the cards" serves as a beacon of hope and resilience in the face of adversity. The poster, adaptable to both English and Chinese languages, is presented in two formats - horizontal and vertical, demonstrating a thoughtful consideration for diverse display methods.

Established in 1996, the UNAIDS Program aims to end AIDS in 30 years. Despite the challenges of prejudice, discrimination, and inequality, the organization has been steadfast in its commitment to the rights and well-being of AIDS patients for the past 25 years. Tiger Pan's design encapsulates this enduring struggle and the unwavering spirit of those involved.

The poster, printed with red fluorescent ink, features a distinct red ribbon symbolizing the fight against AIDS. This ribbon ingeniously connects the English quote, "ROAD AHEAD IS (LONG) AND HARD" and the Chinese quote, "daozuqie(Chang)." This clever play on graphics aims to break language barriers and spark meaningful conversations about the AIDS community.

The design process, which took place over three months in Shenzhen, was not without its challenges. The team had to find a way to integrate the long and hard battle against AIDS into the design while maintaining its aesthetic appeal. The result is a poster that not only communicates a powerful message but also stands as a piece of art in its own right.

The design team, led by Tiger Pan, included Yuxuan He, Qiyuan Xiao, Lixian Zhou, Zhangkun Xie, Miaorong Lu, and project manager Krystal You. Their collaborative efforts have resulted in a design that is both visually arresting and deeply meaningful. The "Success in the Long Run" poster is a testament to their skill, creativity, and dedication to a worthy cause.

In recognition of its outstanding design and impactful message, "Success in the Long Run" was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in 2022. This prestigious accolade is given to designs that demonstrate exceptional creativity, technical expertise, and innovation. It is a fitting tribute to a design that not only embodies these qualities but also serves as a beacon of hope and resilience in the ongoing battle against AIDS.
