Jinheng Optometry: A Unique Clinic Design Inspired by the Eye

Combining Tradition and Technology in a Modern Setting

Jinheng Optometry, designed by Luo Ke, is a remarkable project that seamlessly blends traditional Shanxi culture with modern technology and medical advancements. This ophthalmic clinic not only showcases professional expertise but also creates a comfortable and visually stunning environment for patients. With its unique design features and attention to detail, Jinheng Optometry stands out as a prime example of innovative architecture and design in the healthcare industry.

The inspiration for Jinheng Optometry comes from the rich history and culture of Shanxi. Known for its prosperous merchant heritage, Shanxi culture has evolved over time and now merges with modern civilization and scientific advancements. Luo Ke, the designer, took the visual center of the human body - the eyeball - as the central theme for this project. By incorporating science, medical technology, and the characteristics of the eye, Jinheng Optometry creates a space that is both functional and visually captivating.

One of the standout features of Jinheng Optometry is the eye-shaped window on the right side of the clinic. Composed of over 10,000 stainless steel butterflies, this window is not only a work of art but also represents the visual center and the services it provides. The flowing curves used throughout the space, such as the ceiling modeling, S-shaped counter, stair back cabinet, and strip pendant, further enhance the visual appeal and create a sense of harmony.

Technological innovation is also a key aspect of Jinheng Optometry's design. The dynamic image advertising lightbox on the left side of the clinic showcases different motion tracks through computer programming, adding a modern touch to the space. The gold mailbox stand cabinet, with its protruding shape and frosted bronze gold finish, adds a touch of luxury to the sales area. The integration of materials and lights creates a seamless and visually striking environment.

With a project area of 1042 square meters, Jinheng Optometry offers a spacious and comfortable setting for patients. The meticulous attention to detail, rigorous technology, and high-quality materials used in the design contribute to a harmonious and functional indoor space. The transformation of the staircase, in particular, posed a challenge due to fire safety requirements, but the design team overcame this obstacle to create a seamless flow throughout the building.

Jinheng Optometry has received recognition for its outstanding design. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2022. This prestigious award honors designs that exhibit creativity, resourcefulness, and a commitment to improving quality of life. Jinheng Optometry stands as a testament to the power of design to merge tradition and technology, creating a unique and visually captivating space.
