Rapid Security Check: Enhancing Efficiency and Convenience in Safety Checkpoints

A Self-Service Express Lane Designed by Yong Zhang and Yu Jiang

The "Rapid Security Check" is a unique and innovative solution that streamlines the security check process. Passengers can simply push their belongings through the self-service lane, eliminating the need for manual inspection. The design features two layers of screening channels, allowing small items to be conveniently placed in the upper channel. This ergonomic design ensures a smooth and efficient screening process.

The shell of the "Rapid Security Check" is produced using a lightweight and cost-effective sheet metal process, making it suitable for large-scale production. The security inspection machine operates on the X-ray detection principle, ensuring accurate and reliable screening results.

With dimensions of 1500mm*650mm*1450mm, the "Rapid Security Check" is designed to fit seamlessly into existing subway and high-speed train stations, providing a hassle-free experience for passengers.

Yong Zhang, Yu Jiang, Rui Chi, Yanan Liu, and their team have successfully overcome various creative, technical, and research challenges to bring this design to life. By considering the working principles of security facilities and optimizing the entire operation process, they have significantly improved efficiency and passenger satisfaction.

The "Rapid Security Check" project began in January 2020 in Fushun, Liaoning Province, China, and concluded in November 2020. It has received recognition for its innovative design, winning the Iron A' Design Award in the Security, Safety, and Surveillance Products category in 2022.

With its focus on convenience, efficiency, and safety, the "Rapid Security Check" is revolutionizing the way safety checkpoints are conducted in public transportation systems.
