Minach: A Minimalist Watch Design

A Simple and Attractive Timepiece by Esmail Ghadrdani

Designed by Esmail Ghadrdani, Minach draws inspiration from the concept of minimalism. The goal of this project was to showcase time in the simplest possible way, removing any unnecessary extras. The watch face is devoid of signs and symbols, keeping the visual appearance to a minimum.

What sets Minach apart is its simple and attractive form, as well as its innovative method of adjusting the hands. Unlike traditional watches where the hands are adjusted using a button on the side, Minach features a time adjustment button located in the middle of the body and on the hands themselves. This unique design element adds to the overall aesthetic appeal of the watch.

Minach is crafted using stainless steel in two colors, dark and light, and features hidden straps that seamlessly connect to the body. The concave glass is made of polished mineral crystal, adding a touch of sophistication to the design.

Measuring at 43 mm in width, 43 mm in depth, and 9 mm in height, Minach is a compact and sleek timepiece that effortlessly blends style and functionality. The simple movement of the hands indicates the time, with a clock counter and a minute counter.

During the design process, extensive research was conducted on minimalist products and watches. The aim was to create a special, simple, yet attractive watch that would stand out in the market. Overcoming the challenge of removing unnecessary features while still displaying time in its simplest form was a key aspect of the design process.

Minach was developed in Esfarayen, Iran, starting in July 2021 and completed in December 2021. The design has garnered recognition and was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Jewelry, Eyewear, and Watch Design category in 2022. This prestigious award is given to well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements.
