Wuhan Resort: A Harmonious Blend of Art, Nature, and Commerce

DSC Design Transforms Sales Center into a Humanistic Community

The Wuhan Resort, a large-volume cultural and tourist complex, is nestled in Huangpi District, known as the "Back Garden of Wuhan". The project was a collaborative effort between Sunac China and Wuhan Urban Construction Group, aiming to create a world-class tourist destination. DSC Design was entrusted with the task of executing the interior finishes, resulting in a space that seamlessly blends humanism and naturalism.

The design team took inspiration from the beautiful natural sceneries of Huangpi District, integrating elements of reading, coffee, negotiation, sales, and interactive scenes into the overall immersive space. The result is a space that evokes imagination about and resonance with future life, setting a new standard for ecological resorts.

The unique properties of the design lie in its artistic language, which continues from the building facades to the interior. The use of hyperbolic surfaces and customized materials, such as the seamless wood-like panel on the suspended ceiling and the seamless special artificial stone on the floor, creates a natural and integrated spatial feeling. The project area spans 3,810sqm, making it a large-scale architectural feat.

The design process was not without its challenges. The distinctive architectural form and the use of many hyperbolic shapes posed a significant challenge in integrating and unifying the interior and the architecture. Additionally, achieving a good lighting effect in such a large space was another hurdle that the team had to overcome.

Despite these challenges, the design team was able to create a space that not only serves its functional purpose but also provides an aesthetic value. The design attempts to pacify the inner world and slow down the pace of life, expressing art and touching the hearts of people. The boundary between the interior and the outside is gradually resolved, allowing people to embrace ecology and themselves.

The Wuhan Resort project was started in October 2020 and completed in May 2021. The project's success is evident in its accolades, having been awarded Silver in A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2022. This prestigious award is a testament to the project's outstanding expertise and innovation, showcasing a remarkable level of excellence and introducing positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
