Germgo: The Intelligent Disinfection Robot for Public Places

Revolutionizing Public Health and Safety

The new crown epidemic has heightened the importance of daily disinfection, but traditional cold disinfection machines in public places often pose obstacles for pedestrians. In response, designer Aodong Li has taken a more humane approach by creating Germgo, an intelligent disinfection robot that combines functionality, innovation, and user-friendly features.

Germgo is a cutting-edge disinfection robot designed specifically for public spaces. What sets it apart from other disinfection machines is its intelligent and interactive capabilities. With two screens for route planning and status monitoring, Germgo allows users to freely plan the driving route and ensure efficient disinfection. Equipped with three nozzles and a large-capacity water tank, it can effectively meet the disinfection needs of various environments.

One of the standout features of Germgo is the projection device located at the base of the machine. This device projects the robot's driving direction, providing pedestrians with advance notice and helping them avoid potential collisions. This innovative addition enhances safety and ensures a seamless interaction between humans and machines.

The construction of Germgo involves the use of advanced technologies and materials. The shell and sheet metal are made using the PC and ABS injection molding process, while the disinfection module is crafted from PA material, known for its corrosion resistance and ease of maintenance. These high-quality materials ensure the durability and longevity of the robot.

Measuring at 585mm in length, 527mm in width, and 1063mm in height, Germgo is designed to be compact and easily maneuverable in various public spaces. Its sleek and modern design seamlessly integrates with its surroundings, making it a visually appealing addition to any environment.

Germgo operates through an intuitive interface that allows users to independently plan and select the disinfection route. Combined with an induction device, it can operate in unmanned disinfection mode, ensuring efficiency and convenience. The rectangular screen on the front provides users with clear and concise operation information, making it easy to interact with the robot.

The Germgo project commenced in Wuhan in September 2021 and was successfully completed in December 2021. Throughout the design process, extensive research was conducted to understand the needs of consumers and medical staff. By analyzing competing products and exploring new application scenarios, the design team was able to create a truly humanized and user-centric solution for public place disinfection.

Germgo has received widespread recognition for its innovative design and practicality. It was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Robotics, Automaton, and Automation Design category in 2022. This prestigious award is bestowed upon designs that demonstrate excellence in functionality, innovation, and meeting professional and industrial requirements. Germgo's integration of industry best practices and its positive impact on public health and safety make it a deserving recipient of this accolade.

Germgo is not just a disinfection robot; it is a testament to the power of design and technology in creating a safer and more hygienic world. With its intelligent features and user-friendly interface, Germgo sets a new standard for disinfection in public places, ensuring the well-being of individuals and communities.
