COFCO Town: A Silver A' Design Award Winner by Panshi Design

Revolutionizing Sales Centers with a Unique Ice and Snow Landscape Inspiration

The project, covering a total of 1545 square meters, is a testament to the innovative design approach of Panshi Design. The design team, Cheng Wang and Yongjie Li, took inspiration from the unique ice and snow landscape elements of Zhangjiakou, one of the top ten ice and snow tourism cities in China. The Yinshan Mountains cross the middle of Zhangjiakou, and ice and snow cover the mountain terrain, forming a unique landscape terrain that is reflected in the design of COFCO Town.

What sets COFCO Town apart is its core culture of "urban ladder culture square". The design integrates natural and symbiotic ecological architecture concepts, creating a third space with cultural characteristics and connotation. The ladder culture square can host roadshows, art exhibitions, sharing, reading, business services, and cultural publicity activities, catering to diverse needs.

The design realization technology involved the use of stone, aluminum grille, and texture coating as the main materials. The design also adopted the form of an open-air commercial coffee bar, integrating the indoor and ladder. The outdoor combines the form of landscape and external pendulum, thus achieving internal and external integration. The interests of nature and growth arise spontaneously.

One of the challenges faced in this project was the building's structure, a suspended cuboid, layered up and down. The route from one floor at one end to two floors at the other end was long and narrow. The design team had to create an interesting route, build different space feelings, and achieve space extension and space fusion. They succeeded in doing so by using the elevation difference to create the landscape of terrain ladder, forming a tortuous and rich route.

COFCO Town is a testament to the innovative and creative prowess of Panshi Design. The design was awarded Silver in A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2022. This prestigious award is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that illustrate outstanding expertise and innovation. These designs, admired for their strong technical characteristics and splendid artistic skill, showcase a remarkable level of excellence and introduce positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
