Nanhu Hotel: A Fusion of Tradition and Contemporary Elegance

Bringing the Charm of South-China Culture to Hospitality

The Nanhu Hotel, designed by Yufeng Luo, is a stunning example of how traditional garden culture and the Red Culture can be seamlessly integrated into a contemporary hotel design. Situated in Jiaxing, China, this hotel pays homage to the picturesque beauty of South Lake and the historic significance of the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China.

The Nanhu Hotel stands out with its unique design and luxurious offerings. With 250 rooms and suites, each boasting panoramic floor-to-ceiling glass windows and outdoor viewing balconies, guests can immerse themselves in the breathtaking views of the lake. The interior design of the hotel draws inspiration from South China's architecture and the region's quaint and exquisite culture. The use of stone, wood, hard-wrapped fabric, and metal as the main materials creates a harmonious blend of modernity and tradition.

The hotel's space layout is carefully planned to provide guests with a memorable experience. Divided into three parts, the hotel features a magnificent lobby, a reclusive atrium for tranquility and serenity, and a restaurant offering a wide variety of delicious food. The lobby, with its 10-meter-high ceiling, showcases the fusion of antiquity and novelty. Lake-green screens, orange furniture, fashionable lamps, art books, and ceramic ornaments create a contemporary lifestyle infused with Chinese elegance.

One of the highlights of the Nanhu Hotel is the lobby's ceiling, which refines and reorganizes the beam frame of the water Pavilion in Jiangnan. Traditional Chinese lattice patterns and the five-pointed star motif are combined to form a new design language. The towering lake green screen enhances the sense of spatial sequence and adds depth to the space. The background installation painting in the hotel lobby utilizes the technique of stacking and grinding paint, adding a touch of artistic flair.

The Nanhu Hotel is not only a visual delight but also a testament to the designer's attention to detail. The full-time restaurant, adjacent to the hall bar, features an interlaced and orderly overall space layout. Elements such as door sashes, grilles, wood, metal mesh, bronze, and leather create an active dining environment that reflects the charm of South China's architecture.

Completed in June 2021, the Nanhu Hotel covers a total area of 34,474 square meters. It is a celebration of the centenary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, offering guests a unique blend of history, culture, and contemporary luxury. The hotel's design has been recognized with the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2022, highlighting its outstanding creativity and contribution to quality of life improvements.

Experience the charm of South-China culture and indulge in the elegance of the Nanhu Hotel. Whether you are a history enthusiast, a lover of art and design, or simply seeking a luxurious retreat, this hotel promises an unforgettable experience.
