Crystallar: A Unique Condiment Set Inspired by Crystal Clusters

Introducing Crystallar, a stunning condiment set designed by Irene Yeung. This unique set combines functionality and aesthetics, bringing a touch of elegance and nature to your dining experience. Inspired by crystal clusters, Crystallar features three shakers that resemble crystal pillars with hexagonal prisms. When arranged together on the cement holder, they create a miniature crystal cluster, adding a captivating element to your table.

The Crystallar condiment set includes two stainless steel shakers and one cement holder. The shakers, shaped like crystal pillars, are perfect for storing all-natural mineral or herb seasonings. Each shaker is meticulously polished to achieve a crisp, mirror finish on the exterior, adding a touch of sophistication to your dining table.

One of the remarkable aspects of Crystallar is the use of stainless steel grade SUS316 (SS18/10) for the shakers. This high-quality material ensures durability and longevity. However, the polygonal and crystal-like design of the shakers presented a challenge during production. Special metalworking techniques were employed to bring this unique design to life, despite the high defective rate.

The cement holder, with its polygonal shape, also required special mold and processing techniques to maintain the desired quality standard. The combination of stainless steel and cement creates a harmonious contrast, further enhancing the overall aesthetic appeal of the condiment set.

Crystallar is not only a functional condiment set but also a piece of art that can be used as tableware and home decor. Its unique design and exquisite craftsmanship make it a conversation starter, adding a touch of sophistication to any dining setting.

The Crystallar project began in March 2020 in Hong Kong and was completed in December 2021 in China. Throughout the design process, extensive research and experimentation were conducted to explore various metalworking production techniques. The result is a condiment set that seamlessly combines artistry and functionality.

Crystallar has been recognized for its exceptional design and received the Iron A' Design Award in the Bakeware, Tableware, Drinkware, and Cookware Design category in 2022. This prestigious award is a testament to the set's well-designed, practical, and innovative nature.
