Blossoming Light: A Captivating Installation Art

Unveiling the Beauty of Nature through Light and Design

Square stainless steel metal tubes form the foundation of Blossoming Light, allowing for the creation of intricate curves and shapes. Standing at an impressive 7 meters in height and 4 meters in diameter, the structure resembles a giant flower. The entire surface of the installation is covered with nearly 60,000 LED light spots, enabling a 360-degree video display that surrounds viewers in a mesmerizing visual spectacle.

What sets Blossoming Light apart is its ability to transform with the passage of time. Using computer-controlled timing and light sensors, the LED lights change according to the natural and environmental lighting conditions. This dynamic display reflects the rhythm of the four seasons, creating a vivid representation of nature's ever-changing beauty.

The designers collaborated with various entities to bring Blossoming Light to life. The Department of Tourism, Taoyuan City Government in Taiwan played a crucial role in the realization of this project. Golden Eagle International Lighting & Engineering Co., Ltd. and HTLD Optical Art Aesthetics Design Co., Ltd. provided their expertise in lighting and design, respectively. Artists Chih Liang Liu and Tien Ho lent their creative vision to the project, ensuring its artistic integrity.

Constructing Blossoming Light presented several challenges. The complex structure required precise welding of over 440 joints in 88 different triangle structures. The stability of the curved shape had to be carefully considered, and measures were taken to avoid light pollution. The result is a stunning artwork that captivates viewers while respecting the environment.

Blossoming Light made its debut on January 2, 2022, and will be on display until February 28, 2022, in Taoyuan City, Taiwan. This awe-inspiring installation art piece invites viewers to immerse themselves in the beauty of nature and the power of design.

Recognized for its excellence, Blossoming Light was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Lighting Products and Fixtures Design category in 2022. This prestigious accolade celebrates the innovative and practical nature of the design, as well as its adherence to professional and industrial standards.
