Casa Calma: A Tranquil Residence for a 3-Generation Family

A Unique Blend of Luxury and Functionality

With a floor plan of 360 square meters, Casa Calma was tailor-made for a 3-generation family. The design takes advantage of the building's layout, featuring two owner-exclusive elevators centered around a 360-sqm floor plan. This arrangement allowed the designers to create a private entryway leading to a double-height terrace with breathtaking mountain views. The soothing atmosphere and open view welcome the owners into a world of tranquility.

One of the standout features of Casa Calma is the use of a 2.8-meter tall, 180-degree rotating door that divides the interior into two distinct areas. This design choice allows the bedroom area to be completely separated from the living room when guests visit. During private family time, the house can be circulated as a loop, creating a seamless flow between spaces.

The designers also introduced an invisible linear axis with a dominant bronze titanium plating ceiling design. This design element emphasizes the primary direction of daily activity flow, enhancing the overall aesthetic appeal of the space.

Casa Calma seamlessly blends high-end smart home technology with earthy interior spaces. Italian Cebos mineral coating is used extensively in the lobby, foyer, living, dining area, and study, creating a harmonious fusion of technology and natural elements. The temperature, humidity, and audiovisual control system ensure that Casa Calma takes care of the residents' needs while maintaining a gentle and calm interior environment.

The floor footprint of Casa Calma measures W205m * L200m, with a ceiling height of 3.7 meters and a 7.4-meter high terrace surrounding the living room. The strategic placement of the four side windows, along with the centered elevator core, provides stunning views of the mountains and the city.

Dining area and family study are two mediated spaces thoughtfully designed to foster connection and relaxation. The dining area features a 2.6-meter wide sliding door that can be used to create a private club space when needed. This sliding door also doubles as the door of an exhibit wall cabinet, transforming the corridor into an exhibition hallway during parties or events. The forest green cabinet with a soft white mineral coating sliding door sets a calm and refreshing tone when entering the private bedroom territory.

The Casa Calma project began in October 2020 and was completed in October 2021 in Taipei. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, the design team overcame obstacles and delivered a stunning residence that caters to the unique needs of a 3-generation family.

Casa Calma has received recognition for its exceptional design. It was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2022.
