Kc Group: Redefining Workplace Design with High-Tech Style

Breaking the Traditional Office Concept with Innovative Design

By Yan De Jiang

In the ever-evolving world of design, Kc Group has emerged as a trailblazer in redefining workplace aesthetics. With their latest project, they have transformed a 30-year-old house into a cutting-edge technology company headquarters. Through the use of innovative materials and a high-tech style, Kc Group has created a visually striking and functional workspace.

The inspiration for this design came from the desire to break through traditional design frames. By utilizing building materials in unconventional ways, Kc Group has made a visual impact with their interior design. The exterior, with its imitation fair-faced concrete, exudes modesty and simplicity. Geometric lines formed by iron pieces, accompanied by light strips, extend from the exterior to the interior, creating a captivating image reminiscent of the Milky Way.

What sets this design apart is its unique properties. The exterior features colorful granite paints and iron pieces that symbolize interior traffic flow, divide areas, and create frames. On the interior, imitation fair-faced concrete, solid wood, and iron pieces are used to create a modern industrial style with streamlined design. This departure from the traditional office concept breathes new life into the workspace.

The realization of this design involved a meticulous process. To improve damaged walls and lighting, Kc Group conducted seven processes, including covering tiles with imported paints and strengthening waterproofing work to protect the old facade. Plumbing pipes were also rearranged to enhance functionality.

Spanning over 1322.32 square meters, this project showcases the technical prowess of Kc Group. The ground floor houses the lobby, office rooms, meeting room, kitchen, and bar. The second floor is home to the chairman room, supervisor room, staff room, restrooms, and kitchenware area. The third, fourth, and fifth floors are designated as warerooms, restrooms, and engine rooms.

Located in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, this project was completed in June 2021. The design is a result of extensive research and attention to detail. By incorporating a minimalistic approach and leaving blank spaces, Kc Group has created a calm and human-centered interior. The use of imitation fair-faced concrete, wood veneer, iron pieces, and grey mirror and glass elements adds depth and consistency to the design.

One of the challenges faced by the design team was to create a harmonious and serene style by utilizing cohesive elements. Shadows dropped on a white background were used to create interesting visual effects. The result is a space that showcases the various characteristics of building materials while maintaining an overall sense of harmony.

Kc Group's transformation of this 30-year-old house into a technology company headquarters is a testament to their innovative approach to design. By breaking the monotony and visually enlarging the space with streamlined design, they have created a workspace that is both functional and visually stunning.
