White Yarn: A Micro Luxury Residence in Taipei

Harmonizing Light and Elegance

Like a beautiful bride dressed in a white veil, the space is designed with a beautiful white tone as the theme to connect the distant scenery of Daan District in Taipei. Under the brushstroke of white, the post-modern aesthetics of luxury and elegance are perfectly depicted. The soft lines in the details with European-style trims and the clear yet relaxing scene create a beautiful residence that is impressed in the heart of the client.

White Yarn, a residential project by Wo Giant Interior Decoration, stands out with its unique approach to harmonizing light and elegance. The design team took advantage of the natural lighting in the space to create a light and elegant atmosphere. The public area is dominated by white, with beige and white furnishings, ceilings, and walls. Metallic lines were superimposed as framing configurations, creating a faux antique mirror-like effect and magnifying the space. The use of curved lines instead of square frames adds fluidity and beauty to each area.

The design team utilized a combination of Vista, metal lamps, tawny mirrors, European-style trims, modeling chandeliers, faux antique mirrors, marble, paint, large slabs, stone, and planting to bring the design to life. The precise angle between the transition of each area and the material division was carefully planned to enhance the smoothness of the space. The result is a visually stunning and highly functional design.

Inspired by European classical and post-modern aesthetics, White Yarn creates a fresh and inviting space. The design team masterfully incorporated natural light, mirrors, and curves to achieve a light and elegant atmosphere. The windows in the master bedroom and bathroom were retained to provide a landscape for each member of the house to enjoy. The integration of scenery into the room, combined with the understated and elegant interior design, creates a tranquil and relaxing experience.

The design team faced challenges such as building height restrictions and low beams. To overcome these obstacles, they used framing designs and linear materials to highlight the space. Wood and marble flooring were chosen to complement the overall design. The use of faux antique mirrors created a "borrowed scenery" effect, extending the natural reflection of the materials. Additionally, the bedside space, although not as wide as expected, was optimized with a wrap-around design to enhance efficiency and flow.

The contrast between the ceiling and flooring adds a transparent and luxurious feeling to the design. European-style line panels, antique mirrors, creamy white clear lacquer, wood textures, leather, and carpets were carefully selected to create a modern yet elegant space. The curved lines throughout the design connect the twists and turns of the space, adding aesthetic and romantic elements to the white tones.

White Yarn, completed in March 2021 in Taiwan, showcases the creativity and resourcefulness of Wo Giant Interior Decoration. This design was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2023. The award recognizes designs that exhibit strong technical and creative skills, contributing to quality of life improvements and making the world a better place.
