The Memory of Poetry: A Unique Blend of Art and Architecture

What sets the "Memory of Poetry" apart is its unique blend of modern design techniques and traditional cultural elements. The design draws inspiration from the ladder-sequence shape of Wuyi tea mountains and Hakka enclosed dwellings, refining these elements into art installations. The design team, led by Zhu Jinxin and including Li Songbai, Zhu Zhifan, and Sun Zhendong, used modern skills, materials, and technology to bring this vision to life.

The design process was not without its challenges. The team aimed to create a space that was both modern and reflective of the area's cultural heritage. They achieved this by allowing rounded curves to stretch throughout the space, eliminating boundaries and hiding edges and corners through deformation and sequence reorganization. This approach resulted in a large-span, column-free space, providing a sense of openness and freedom.

The "Memory of Poetry" project started in May 2021 and was completed in December of the same year. Throughout this period, the team conducted extensive research into the local culture and environment. They drew inspiration from the natural harmony of the Jiuqu River, which flows through the mountains with twists and turns, and the warmth of the local Hakka closed dwellings.

Described by the designers as an "urban art museum", the "Memory of Poetry" is more than just a sales office. It is a tribute to the natural character of water and soil, a testament to the interdependence and integration of all things. It is a poem and painting on the long river of the times, an important participant in urban evolution.

The "Memory of Poetry" project reflects the potential of combining contemporary design with traditional culture. It is a testament to KJH Design's ability to create spaces that are not only functional but also deeply rooted in the cultural heritage of their location. The project's recognition with a Silver A' Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design Award in 2023 is a testament to its innovative approach and outstanding execution.
