Creating a Unique Brand Image with Qing Dong

In an effort to differentiate itself from traditional barbecue shops, the Yic Barbecue Market underwent a strategic transformation led by designer Qing Dong. By incorporating IP creation and brand differentiation, the restaurant has become more than just a place to enjoy delicious grilled meats; it has become an alien small dinosaur trend shop.

The interior of the restaurant features mirror stainless steel, creating a continuous dramatic ceiling space that enhances the dining experience and offers a unique interpretation of traditional cuisine. The use of metal textures and simple lines adds a modern touch to the space, while the collision of materials and colors creates a visually striking and three-dimensional atmosphere.

Spanning a total of 280 square meters, the Yic Barbecue Market is a fusion of interior design, commercial space, and futuristic elements. The smoke exhaust pipe in the barbecue area is designed in the shape of a UFO, adding layers to the overall design and showcasing personality and taste. The absence of partitions or walls in the seating area is compensated by color changes, decorative elements, and distinct furniture designs, creating clear distinctions between different areas.

The Yic Barbecue Market project began in October 2018 and was completed in December 2018 in Suqian. The design team, consisting of Qing Dong, Jie Chen, and Ting Pan, meticulously researched and incorporated elements of fashion, futuristic structures, and brand tone to transport diners to the mysterious Zila planet.

This innovative design has been recognized with the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2020. The award acknowledges the restaurant's outstanding creativity, resourcefulness, and incorporation of best practices in art, science, design, and technology. By improving the quality of life and offering a unique dining experience, Yic Barbecue Market has truly made its mark.
