The metal version undergoes a similar process of preforming and welding, resulting in a polished and powder-coated finish. The Folding Seasons coffee table is designed with practicality in mind. To prevent any accidental shifts or falls, a glass or metal vase is placed over the circular cut-out on the glass top, securely locking it to the base. This vase serves both as a decorative element and a functional locking mechanism.

Aw Siao Ping began working on the Folding Seasons coffee table in June 2021, and the project was completed in June 2022 in Singapore. The design is currently undergoing further development for mass production, with additional variations such as a "folds" version and a "tubular" version in the works.

The creation of the Folding Seasons coffee table presented several challenges for the designer. From studying tensile strength and forms using paper craft models to experimenting with steam bending plywood, Aw Siao Ping overcame technical obstacles to bring this unique design to life. Load-bearing tests have been conducted, ensuring the table's stability and safety.
