Transformation: A Modern Leisure Hotel Design by Si-Jhe Lin

Creating a Stylish and Relaxing Atmosphere

Inspired by the client's desire for a stylish and modern renovation, Si-Jhe Lin and the design team transformed an old hotel into a modern leisure space. By focusing on lighting, color palette, and corporate identity, they created a casual resort atmosphere that meets the client's needs.

The transformation of this hotel involved three key aspects: lighting, color palette, and corporate identity. The designers removed outdated and old objects from the site and added fashionable elements and lighting that are now popular with the public.

One of the standout features of this design is the accenting of the area with spotlights and titanium stripes in titanium black and rose gold patterns. This adds a touch of elegance and sophistication to the space. The hanging seascape series with stone-shaped cushions infuses local natural elements into the design, creating a connection to the surrounding environment.

The color palette plays a crucial role in creating the desired atmosphere. The designers used blue as the main color, evoking a sense of calmness and tranquility. The white ceiling creates the image of a blue sky, white clouds, and an ocean, further enhancing the resort-like ambiance.

To bring a touch of nature into the basement space, the designers incorporated a faux green wall. This injects greenery into the area, alleviating the lack of natural light and adding a refreshing element to the design.

The design team also paid attention to the dining area, making it bright and stylish. The one-piece artificial stone dining table not only adds a touch of elegance but also ensures practicality with its resistance to wear and oil contamination. The round mirror on the wall extends the space visually, while the round LED lights on the kitchen island echo the mirror, creating a cohesive and visually appealing design.

When it comes to the materials used in this design, the designers opted for environmentally friendly and non-toxic options. Artificial stone, baking paint, moru glass, iron parts, artificial green wall, fabric, titanium-plated trim, wall cloth, and beige stone panel were all carefully chosen to create a healthy and safe dining environment.

The project, which spans a total of 995 square meters, includes guest rooms, corridors, a merchandise area, and a restaurant. The building consists of four floors, each with its own unique design elements. The designers successfully balanced functionality and design, creating a space that is both aesthetically pleasing and practical.

Despite the challenges of working on an outlying island, Si-Jhe Lin and the design team overcame obstacles and delivered a remarkable result. The designers had to rely on photos and videos to supervise the project due to distance constraints, making urgent choices and adjustments along the way. Additionally, some building materials had to be ordered from Taiwan, adding to the complexity of the project. However, their expertise and dedication ensured a successful outcome.

The transformation of this hotel into a modern leisure space showcases Si-Jhe Lin's ability to create a comfortable and relaxing environment. By incorporating elements of the original design and infusing it with modern touches, the design team successfully preserved the heritage of the space while elevating it to a new level. The result is a stylish and inviting hotel that offers guests a truly memorable experience.
