Located on the Hengqin Island in Zhuhai, the MCC Shengshi International Plaza stands as a testament to Aedas' innovative architectural design. The project, which is in close proximity to the Lotus Bridge linking to Cotai, Macau, impresses with its streamlined appearance and abundant mixed-use programs. The design includes two high-rise office towers, podium retail, and a rooftop garden, enriching the city skyline while fulfilling functional and planning requirements.
The design concept of the MCC Shengshi International Plaza is inspired by the elegant cruising movement of a dragon fish. The contour of the streamlined tower and the dynamic physique of the dragon fish echo each other perfectly, creating a sense of the era's portal image. The facade design concept, inspired by wind waves, features wave-shaped aluminum plates that offer an integrated port icon with multi-level details.
Not only is the design aesthetically pleasing, but it also incorporates energy-saving features. The aluminum plates on the facade contribute to energy conservation by shading sunshine, while the green roofs improve the performance of roof insulation, effectively reducing the heat gain through the roof for the top floor. This blend of form and function sets the MCC Shengshi International Plaza apart from other architectural designs.
The project, which started in January 2017, has already garnered significant recognition. In 2023, it was awarded the Golden A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award, a prestigious accolade granted to marvelous, outstanding, and trendsetting creations that reflect the designer's prodigy and wisdom. The award celebrates products and ideas that advance art, science, design, and technology, embodying extraordinary excellence and significantly impacting the world with their desirable characteristics.
With its unique design properties, the MCC Shengshi International Plaza by Aedas exemplifies the future of architecture. It showcases how innovative design can reshape urban spaces, create functional buildings, and contribute to energy conservation. As the world continues to evolve, one can only anticipate what Aedas will create next.
