75ft Explorer: A Sailing Yacht Designed for Adventure

Unleashing the Spirit of Freedom on the Open Sea

The sea is the last bit on earth where you can experience real freedom, was the main idea which has been followed on this design. Where the exterior styling should reflect in a way the rough and harsh environment which will experience the yacht in its operational life, yet it should be elegant and timeless with well- balanced proportions, but really functional. On the other hand the interior should give you the warmness and cosiness and a feeling of protection when you are going in the areas where you will have to face rough conditions.

Designed by the renowned Harry Miesbauer, the 75ft Explorer is a sailing yacht that embodies the spirit of adventure and exploration. This exceptional vessel was created for a seasoned owner who seeks to traverse the world's oceans, from the Mediterranean to the Arctic. With a focus on seaworthiness, functionality, and environmental consciousness, the 75ft Explorer is a testament to innovative design and engineering.

One of the standout features of the 75ft Explorer is its ability to withstand extreme temperatures ranging from -15°C to 40°C. The yacht's construction and design have been meticulously developed to ensure the crew's comfort and safety in even the harshest conditions. A special rigid sprayhood provides additional protection in the cockpit, while the interior exudes warmth and coziness, offering a sanctuary from the elements.

Environmental sustainability is a key consideration in the design of the 75ft Explorer. The yacht features a fully hybrid propulsion system, reducing emissions and enabling it to operate in environmentally protected areas. This commitment to eco-consciousness ensures that the yacht can explore the world's most pristine and fragile ecosystems without leaving a negative impact.

The 75ft Explorer boasts a range of cutting-edge technologies and materials. Its hybrid glass/carbon-sandwich construction, carbon mast, and rod rigging contribute to its exceptional performance and durability. The yacht's CNC milled high-strength steel fin and lifting keel provide stability and maneuverability, allowing it to navigate various water depths.

With a length overall of 23.100m and a maximum beam of 5.850m, the 75ft Explorer offers ample space for both living and sailing. Its displacement of approximately 39,000kg ensures stability and comfort, while the sail area of 299.1m2 guarantees impressive performance even in challenging wind conditions.

The design of the 75ft Explorer prioritizes functionality and ease of operation. The well-protected cockpit is designed for long offshore passages, with the navigation area conveniently located near the companionway for quick access. The yacht can be steered from both the steering area and the navigation area, providing flexibility and convenience for the crew. All winches for sail control are strategically positioned, enabling the helmsman to sail the yacht alone once the sails are hoisted.

As the owner of the 75ft Explorer is likely to spend extended periods on board, the yacht features an office area where business can be conducted seamlessly. The yacht meets all ISO standards for seaworthiness and is classified for operating on the open sea without any limits, ensuring the highest level of safety and performance.

The 75ft Explorer is a testament to meticulous research and development. The design team studied various hull shapes to optimize stability and seaworthiness. Extensive weight reduction measures were implemented, utilizing carbon in the hull, deck, and structures. The yacht's ability to handle cold climates and temperatures below zero was thoroughly researched, resulting in innovative solutions for protection and insulation.

The 75ft Explorer project commenced in the summer of 2019, with the preliminary design finalized in 2022. The boatyard for its construction will be chosen by the owner before May 2023, marking the next phase of this remarkable endeavor.

Awarded the prestigious Iron A' Design Award in the Yacht and Marine Vessels Design category in 2023, the 75ft Explorer stands as a testament to exceptional design and engineering. This accolade recognizes its practicality, innovation, and adherence to professional and industrial standards. With its unrivaled capabilities and commitment to sustainability, the 75ft Explorer is poised to redefine the boundaries of sailing yacht design.
