Shenyang China Railway Sales Center: A Testament to Geometric Elegance

Beijing Jien Architectural Design's Award-Winning Project Marries Artistic Aesthetics and Functional Design

The Shenyang China Railway Sales Center, covering a total of 2000 square meters, is a testament to the value of temperament aesthetics. The design team, led by Chief Designer Cheng Fei, has crafted a space that not only boasts gracious scale but also exudes an aura of inner peace. The materials used in the project include stone, stainless steel, aluminum plate, art glass, paint board, wood veneer, and acrylic.

One of the unique features of the sales center is the negotiation area, which is symmetrical to the water bar. The "U" type semi-surrounded form injects a taste of books and tea art, creating a space for negotiation, relaxation, and enjoyment. The design team has also incorporated a book bar that uses calm and low-key colors in a modern and simple frame, integrating retro elements and fashion items. This space can also serve as a library, community space, or cafe, facilitating easy reading and conversation.

The project, which started in March 2021 and finished in September 2022, faced several design challenges. The designers sought to integrate a sense of brightness into the interior space, using the collision of calm metal and bright stone to reveal complex emotions. They used the thick and rough texture of wood to show the traces of time, achieving a sense of high-level artistic life against a pure facade embellished with delicate lines.

The design of the Shenyang China Railway Sales Center has been recognized with the Silver A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2023. This prestigious award is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that illustrate outstanding expertise and innovation. These designs, admired for their strong technical characteristics and splendid artistic skill, showcase a remarkable level of excellence and introduce positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
