Xiaobing Yao's Innovative Design Approach in a Modern Store

Yao's inspiration for Sight Art Studio stemmed from a desire to break away from traditional, female-oriented romantic aesthetics. Instead, the space embraces a cool, elegant design that highlights the philosophy of independent women. This approach serves as a reminder that happiness can manifest in various forms, challenging societal norms and expectations.

The unique properties of Sight Art Studio lie in its distinctive design elements. Yao utilized materials such as black floor tile, dark gray floor glue, art paint, silver mirror, and hard package to create a space that is both modern and elegant. Covering a total of 1430 square meters, the studio is a physical embodiment of the brand's forward-thinking vision.

The project, which began in February 2022 and concluded in May of the same year, was a part of TONGCHAUNG's expansion into Guangzhou. TONGCHAUNG, a renowned Chengdu wedding photography business, aims to revolutionize the perception of wedding photos as works of art. The Sight Art Studio is a significant step towards achieving this goal.

Despite the challenges faced during the design process, Yao successfully incorporated Morandi colors throughout the space. The low saturation of these colors induces a sense of relaxation, while simultaneously conveying a sense of quality. The space evokes two contrasting feelings - a high-end noble sense and mature coziness, reflecting the brand's attitude of being independent yet gentle.

Yao's design language for the project was centered around curves, highlighting its contemporary minimalism character. The unique morphological structure and artistic identification are released, and the array corresponds to the industry attributes with a sense of ceremony. The design is built with rose as the space form, symbolizing the brand's growth and success in Guangzhou.

For his innovative approach and remarkable execution, Yao's Sight Art Studio was awarded Silver in A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2023. This prestigious accolade is a testament to Yao's creative prowess and his ability to transform spaces into works of art.
