The concept of 'Sound Wave' is rooted in the desire to materialize the intangible. Danilin's innovative approach involved translating Debussy's "Prelude No. 3, Wind on the Plain" into a visual sound wave, which then informed the lamp's silhouette. This creative process not only challenges conventional design but also pays homage to the composer's legacy, allowing the user to experience a classic melody in a new, multisensory dimension.
What sets 'Sound Wave' apart is its dual-layered glass design, which cleverly eliminates the need for visible fasteners, resulting in a sleek and uncluttered aesthetic. The lamp's interchangeable colored glass elements offer a customizable experience, while the use of magnetic ceiling bowls and concealed bolts enhances the design's clean lines. The flexibility of wire heights, ranging from 100 to 3000 mm, allows for diverse spatial compositions, making the lamp versatile for various interior settings.
From an environmental and production standpoint, 'Sound Wave' excels with its reduced waste and improved manufacturing efficiency. The design's emphasis on sustainability is matched by its durability, ensuring that the lamp not only captures the essence of a sound wave but also stands the test of time as a functional piece of art.
The collaborative effort behind 'Sound Wave' involved a dedicated team, including engineer Nikita Morozov and product manager Elena Slivka, among others. Their collective expertise brought this design to fruition, culminating in its successful showcase at Interlight Russia 2023. The lamp's ability to create multilevel lighting compositions makes it ideal for staircases, dining areas, and bedside lighting, offering a striking accent to any interior space.
'Sound Wave' has not only achieved aesthetic and functional success but has also been recognized with the prestigious Silver A' Design Award, a testament to its innovative design and the emotional resonance it creates. This accolade underscores the lamp's exceptional quality and the profound impact of Danilin's vision, where music and light converge to enhance our living environments.
