With the Perier Sideboard, Pierre Cardin Mobilia introduces a sideboard that transcends mere functionality to become a statement piece in any dining room or living space. Its 500-liter capacity provides ample storage, while the top surface invites artistic display, blending utility with aesthetic appeal. The sideboard's symmetrical leather bag concept doors and side walls are not only visually striking but also contribute to the room's acoustic quality.
The creation of the Perier Sideboard is a testament to the meticulous craftsmanship and advanced technology. Utilizing MDF wood, laser metal cutting, and titanium plating, the sideboard is a product of high precision and durability. The leather elements are carefully cut and sewn, adding a touch of soft texture and luxury to the design.
Measuring 240 cm in width, 76 cm in height, and 55 cm in depth, the Perier Sideboard is a substantial piece that commands attention. It is designed to be versatile, with modules of varying sizes to fit different spaces. The touch-open mechanism eliminates the need for handles, ensuring a sleek and uninterrupted facade.
Designed by Ceyhun Akin Industrial Design Studio in December 2023 and produced since January 2024, the Perier Sideboard is a recent innovation in furniture design. The design team, led by Ceyhun Akin, has meticulously researched to align the sideboard with the brand's signature earth tones and flowing forms. The use of metal details not only enhances the product's value but also aims to project a sense of luxury.
One of the challenges faced during the design process was to create forms and details that resonate with the brand's heritage while ensuring manufacturability. The Perier Sideboard overcame these hurdles, resulting in a design that is both practical and aesthetically pleasing. The sideboard is a reflection of an aesthetic journey, a "flashy home" for one's valuables, supported by high-quality leather and shiny metal legs in harmony with wood.
The Perier Sideboard's excellence in design and innovation has been recognized with the prestigious Iron A' Furniture Design Award in 2024. This accolade is a nod to the sideboard's well-designed, practical, and innovative nature, meeting professional and industrial standards. The award celebrates the sideboard's ability to integrate industry best practices and competent technical characteristics, ultimately contributing to a better world through design.
