E-Steward: Revolutionizing the Dining Experience

E-Steward was born out of a real-time need to enhance the dining experience. Chitranshi observed the usual situation of waiting for food and doing nothing but watching faces. He wanted to create a highly interactive option that would not only make the dining process more efficient but also increase customer-restaurant interaction and overall satisfaction.

The E-Steward system consists of three different units that work together seamlessly. The first unit allows customers to easily order their choice of food and know the estimated serving time. The second unit provides city updates, keeping diners informed and entertained. And finally, the third unit offers a variety of games to play while waiting for the food to be served.

One of the key strengths of E-Steward is its ability to increase table-turns. With the convenience of ordering and paying directly from the table, customers can enjoy a faster and more efficient dining experience. This not only benefits the customers but also the restaurant, as it allows for a higher turnover rate and increased revenue.

Chitranshi and his team faced several challenges during the design process. They conducted time-activity analysis, observed people's needs in restaurants, and analyzed the restaurant environment to ensure that the product seamlessly fit into the dining experience. Their goal was to enhance the overall dining experience while maintaining the highest standards of hospitality.

E-Steward has received recognition for its innovative design. In 2012, it was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interface, Interaction, and User Experience Design category. This prestigious award is bestowed upon designs that demonstrate creativity, resourcefulness, and a commitment to improving quality of life through art, science, design, and technology.
