One Bloor: A Sinuously Sensual Presentation Centre

An Innovative Total Environment by Cecconi Simone

The inspiration for this design, created by Cecconi Simone, is derived from the undulating profile of the future condominium tower's architectural envelope and from organic forms and elements found in nature. The design presents a sinuous sensuality incorporating elements of fire, water, and earth, offering seamless transitions from interior to exterior.

Conceived as a space-within-a-space, the presentation centre is created from a suspended grid and molded aluminum framework, which mimics the curvilinear profile of the future hi-rise. Fixtures and finishes are secured to these structures, with minimal contact with the existing envelope. The presentation centre's sculpted interior architecture guides visitors through the successive galleries where the story of the impending tower unfolds steadily and engagingly.

The One Bloor presentation centre is a testament to innovative design and construction techniques. Despite its limited area of just 223 m², it successfully captures the essence and ambiance of the upcoming seventy-five storey condominium. The suspended grid and molded metal frame create a unique space-in-a-space concept, mirroring the curvilinear profile of the future hi-rise. By minimizing contact with the existing envelope, the presentation centre achieves a seamless and immersive experience for visitors.
