Yueshan Lake Villa, designed by Yinling Qian of Timespace Design, is a remarkable example of contemporary architecture that seamlessly integrates with its natural surroundings. This single-family residence, located in Guiyang city, Guizhou province, is nestled against the lake and surrounded by terraced terrain and lush forests.

The design of Yueshan Lake Villa aims to explore and extend the new technology and sustainability of lakeside housing. The indoor and outdoor spaces are ingeniously intertwined, expanding from the semi-underground first floor to the surface of the lake. This design maximizes natural lighting and ventilation, creating a sense of air circulation and openness. The upper floors step back gradually, creating a well-proportioned structure that enhances the comparative relationship between the building and its surroundings.

One of the unique features of Yueshan Lake Villa is its exterior facade. The original material of the facade is retained, while volcanic stone, outdoor wood grilles, and partitions are added to create a contrasting surface. The delicate and soft arrangement of the wooden grilles, combined with the roughness and expansiveness of the volcanic stone, beautifully captures the beauty of nature in artistic language. Inside the villa, the use of different surface treatments, such as natural stone and warm wood colors, creates a harmonious and expressive language of space.

The landscape design of Yueshan Lake Villa takes inspiration from the surrounding environment. The front and back gardens are interconnected, forming a roundabout garden that showcases the natural beauty of the area. The limited space is utilized to create a series of landscape paintings, enhancing the overall aesthetic of the villa.

Yueshan Lake Villa offers a unique living experience. The floor-to-ceiling glass windows facing the lake provide breathtaking panoramic views, while the entrance, partially shaded by greenery, creates a sense of suspense and intrigue. The villa is designed with shared living spaces on the first floor and half-underground level, while the upper floors offer private spaces such as the master bedroom, study, and fitness area. The staircase, adorned with a FLOS ring combination lighting installation, adds a touch of vitality and creates an interesting visual experience.

Throughout the villa, original works of art by various artists are thoughtfully placed, giving the space life and soul. The balance of space, scale, and proportion creates a harmonious and artistic atmosphere that resonates with the natural surroundings.

The Yueshan Lake Villa project, which began in 2016 and was completed in November 2019, showcases the meticulous attention to detail and strict control of every step, from design to construction. Yinling Qian's vision of sustainable housing and natural symbiosis is realized in this remarkable architectural masterpiece.

Yueshan Lake Villa has been recognized for its excellence in design and innovation. It was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2021.
