Sky Lounge: A Fusion of Tradition and Modernity

Combining Iranian Architecture and Contemporary Design

The inspiration for the Sky Lounge came from the rich history and art of Iran. Elements of ancient architecture, such as the ceiling arches based on Sassanian era architecture, have been incorporated into the design. The Persian carpet and mirror art further highlight the combination of traditional and modern elements. The walls are adorned with updated wallpaper, plastering, modern mirrors, and furniture colors, creating a unique and visually captivating space.

One of the standout features of the Sky Lounge is its rectangular interior view, measuring 50 meters long and 11 meters high. The use of lenses (spots) to illuminate each table creates a modern and glorious atmosphere. This lighting technique not only adds to the contemporary feel of the space but also pays homage to Iranian history and identity by combining art and geometry.

The realization of the design involved the use of Sun Energy glass to maximize natural light and energy sources. Iron vaults, modern plastering, and modern mirroring techniques were employed to bring the designer's vision to life. Additionally, the air conditioning systems were designed to combine the smell of mild aloes wood, enhancing the overall sensory experience for guests.

Spanning an impressive 1400 square meters, the Sky Lounge offers a truly immersive dining experience. The integration of traditional architecture and modernity creates a superb atmosphere that preserves national and Iranian values. The restaurant aims to introduce foreign guests and audiences to the rich cultural heritage of Iran while providing a memorable culinary experience.

The Sky Lounge project took one year to complete and was a result of extensive research into Iranian culture and arts. The design team was challenged with incorporating historical and traditional elements into a modern environment without compromising the identity and cultural-artistic value of Iran. The end result is a space that evokes wonder and admiration.

Recognized for its outstanding design, the Sky Lounge was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in 2019 in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. This prestigious accolade is bestowed upon designs that exhibit strong technical and creative skills, contributing to quality of life improvements and making the world a better place.
