HAOTING Technology Co., LTD. drew inspiration from the difficulties women often encounter with traditional folding bikes. The company aimed to design a bike that was not only more user-friendly but also fashionable. The result is the Slider Folding Bike, a vehicle that harnesses the power of gravity to assist in the folding process and boasts a stylish diamond shape.

The Slider Folding Bike stands out from its competitors due to its unique structure and handle placement. These features reduce the difficulty of mounting the bike and the weight of the folding process. The bike's main frame, designed in a diamond shape, allows for easy folding in just two seconds. Once folded, the bike is the size of a suitcase, and its handlebars function as a drag handle. The diamond structure also stabilizes the front wheel when fixed.

The Slider Folding Bike is crafted using 6061 Aluminum tube welding, creating a sturdy diamond structure. The bike's tubes come in four different sizes, which helps to reduce production costs. Despite its compact size, the bike's geometric dimensions provide a riding experience similar to a 26-inch bike, thanks to its 20-inch tires.

The bike's dimensions when unfolded are 1400mm in width, 400mm in depth, and 1000mm in height. When folded, the bike measures 800mm in width, 600mm in depth, and 700mm in height. The Slider Folding Bike project began in September 2011 in Taiwan and was completed in May 2012. It was exhibited at the Taipei World Trade Center in May 2012.

The design process for the Slider Folding Bike was underpinned by extensive research, particularly focusing on the needs of women users. The designers used TRIZ tools to solve problems and 3D software to calculate the structure's strength. Despite challenges related to geometric dimensions, the folding process, structure strength, cost, and usage, the bike was successfully produced.

The Slider Folding Bike's innovative design and functionality earned it the prestigious Platinum A' Vehicle, Mobility and Transportation Design Award in 2013. This award recognizes world-class, exceptional, and highly innovative designs that contribute to societal wellbeing and push the boundaries of art, science, design, and technology.
