Emerald - Project Asia Metamorphosis

Brooch by Victor A. Syrnev

Character and external shape of a subject allow to change new design of an ornament. In the lively nature one period changes to another. Spring follows winter and morning comes after night. The colors also change as well as the atmosphere. This principle of replacement, alternation of the images is brought forward into the adornments of the «Asia Metamorphosis», the collection where two different states, two unconstrained images reflected in one object. Movable elements of the construction make possible to change the character and appearance of the ornament.

Victor A. Syrnev, the renowned designer, has created a stunning brooch named "Emerald - Project Asia Metamorphosis". This unique piece of jewelry is part of the "Metamorphosis" collection, which explores the concept of transformation and mystery. Inspired by the idea of mythical and wonderful transformations, Syrnev has designed a brooch that allows the owner to observe the kaleidoscope of visions, fairy tales, and surprises of the Great Silk Road.

The "Emerald - Project Asia Metamorphosis" brooch stands out for its innovative design and unique properties. The character and external shape of the brooch allow for the transformation of its appearance. Just like the changing seasons in nature, the brooch can change its character and external shape, reflecting two different states or images in one object. This is achieved through movable elements in the construction, which give the wearer the ability to change the character and appearance of the ornament.

Syrnev's creative process involves the use of his copyrighted technology called "Cloud brocade". This technique involves the composition of multiple overlapping and hot fusing precious metals of different colors and shades. The subsequent forging and cold processing of gold and silver create a metal surface texture reminiscent of textile. The "Emerald - Project Asia Metamorphosis" brooch is made of 14K gold, silver 925, emeralds, pearls, and black nacre.

Measuring 65 x 9 x 65 mm, this brooch is not only a piece of jewelry but also a work of art. Its two-way design employs the principle of falling domino stones, allowing the brooch to open in one direction or another. The decor and plastic of each side are completely independent, creating two different characters or images. By playing and enjoying this brooch, the wearer can form their own artistic image.

The "Emerald - Project Asia Metamorphosis" brooch was created in Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek, over a period of 12 years. It was first exhibited in the "Treasures of the Modern Silk Road" exhibition at the Kyrgyz National Museum of Art in 2009. The brooch has received recognition for its exceptional design and craftsmanship, winning the Silver A' Design Award in the Jewelry, Eyewear, and Watch Design category in 2013.

Victor A. Syrnev's "Emerald - Project Asia Metamorphosis" brooch is a testament to his creativity, innovation, and mastery of design. It embodies the spirit of transformation and captures the essence of the Great Silk Road, offering its wearer a unique and captivating experience.
