Corporate Mandala: An Innovative Educational and Training Tool

An Integration of Ancient Principles and Corporate Identity

Designed by Pavol Rozloznik, this unique tool was created upon a client's request to improve the situation in their company. Drawing inspiration from previous work with mandalas as team-building tools, Rozloznik developed a special mandala dedicated solely to the client's company and the specific issues they needed to address.

The corporate mandala uses symbols that work on an unconscious level to solve the client's situation. It is a group activity for teams or an individual activity for managers, designed specifically for each company. Participants color the mandala in a free and intuitive manner, choosing any color or field. Each coloring session creates a unique visual representation of the moment together, reflecting the quality of the team's collaboration.

What sets the corporate mandala apart is its integration of ancient principles with corporate identity. It serves as a new element of a company's corporate identity, reinforcing its values and goals. The design can be printed on various materials such as paper, canvas, or glass, allowing for flexibility in its use.

The project, which started in 2011 and finished in March 2013 in Bratislava, Slovakia, involved a team of designers including Pavol Rozloznik, Lubica Hamarova, and Dana Hamarova. The design was realized through a combination of qualitative research, including studies, observations, and personal interviews with SME businesses. The results showed that the use of dedicated symbols in corporate mandalas had a positive effect on business performance.

The creation of each corporate mandala presented its own challenges. The designer had to truly understand the essence and spirit of the company and address the specific issues at hand. This required careful listening to the client and a deep knowledge of mandalas, symbols, and their meanings. The designer's creativity and "inner comfort" were also crucial, as the creation of each corporate mandala involved combining the experience of a creative designer with a spiritual experience.

The excellence and innovation of the corporate mandala design were recognized with the prestigious A' Design Award. In 2013, it received the Silver A' Design Award in the Education, Teaching Aid, and Training Content Design category. This award is given to designs that demonstrate outstanding expertise, innovation, technical characteristics, and artistic skill. The corporate mandala design evokes positive feelings, amazement, and wonder, showcasing a remarkable level of excellence.

The corporate mandala is not just a tool for training and education; it is a powerful symbol of unity, collaboration, and growth within a company.
