The Vivit Collection stands out for its elongated shapes and swirling lines, reminiscent of forms found in nature. The pieces, consisting of bent 18k yellow gold sheets with a special black plating on the outer faces, create an interesting and curious perception. The leaf-shaped earrings encircle the earlobes, their natural movements creating a captivating dance between the black and gold, hiding and revealing the yellow gold underneath. This collection's sinuosity and ergonomic attributes present a fascinating play of light, shadows, glare, and reflections.
The realization of the Vivit Collection involved traditional jewelry techniques in a low scale production. The earrings and ring are handmade, bent, and cut from 18k yellow gold sheets, with black rhodium plating on the outer faces. This meticulous process ensures strict quality control of raw material and the refined look of the finished pieces.
The earrings weigh 27g with dimensions of Width 27mm x Depth 20mm x Height 77mm. The rings weigh 4g with dimensions of Width 21mm x Depth 12mm x Height 29mm. The collection, developed in São Paulo, Brazil, took around six months from the first roughs to the final pieces.
One of the biggest challenges in the production of the Vivit pieces was setting the curves corresponding to the project, while respecting the resistance of the bent gold plates. Another significant challenge was the creation of the earrings mechanism that allows the parts to move freely, despite the pressure on each earlobe.
The Vivit Collection has been recognized for its exceptional design and innovation, winning the Platinum A' Jewelry, Eyewear and Watch Design Award in 2014. This award recognizes world-class, exceptional, and highly innovative designs that showcase unmatched professionalism, contribute to societal wellbeing, and advance the boundaries of art, science, design, and technology.
In conclusion, the Vivit Collection by Fabio Brazil & Henrique Murgel is a testament to the power of design inspired by nature. Through its unique properties, meticulous realization, and innovative design, it pushes the boundaries of jewelry design, creating pieces that are not only visually stunning but also a celebration of the dance between form and function.
