One Plus Partnership Limited Office

A Sustainable and Creative Workspace

The One Plus Partnership Limited Office showcases the future of office design with its innovative use of upcycled and recycled materials. Designed by Ajax Law & Virginia Lung, this office space embraces sustainability while providing a unique and creative environment for its occupants.

The designers of the One Plus Partnership Limited Office have taken inspiration from the hottest design trend for the future - upcycling waste material and recycling old furniture. The sustainable theme of the office is evident throughout, from the cement walls and flooring to the use of leftover fabrics and recycled designer pieces. Plastic blue wrapping is used to redecorate designer chairs, while fabric samples sourced from suppliers adorn a meeting room sofa.

What sets this office apart is its unconventional meeting and presentation room. Instead of a traditional conference room, chairs are redecorated with thick black elastic bands, plastic straps, and greenhouse sun-screen netting. Next to the chairs is a cluster of tables that allow for different combinations, providing flexibility and easy adaptation for different uses. This setup creates a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere, simulating a café-like experience for clients and meeting attendees.

The design of the One Plus Partnership Limited Office also embraces raw concrete as a key element. The floors, low partition walls, and worktops are all made of raw concrete, allowing for free space and creativity. Even the original concrete walls have had their existing paint removed, showcasing the beauty of the material.

Upholstered fabrics, stone, plastic laminate, and spray paint are the main techniques used to bring this design to life. The result is a 358sqm office space that is both visually stunning and environmentally conscious.

The designers' commitment to sustainability extends to the lighting as well. Randomly hanging chandeliers are actually LED-lit, gradually brightening when switched on. Adjustable and flexible track lights are also used, providing energy-saving solutions.

The One Plus Partnership Limited Office was completed in February 2013 in Hong Kong. It is a testament to the designers' dedication to creating a space that not only meets the client's objectives but also incorporates environmental consciousness and creativity.

This innovative office design has been recognized with the Bronze A' Design Award in 2014. The award acknowledges the outstanding and creatively ingenious design that incorporates best practices in art, science, design, and technology. The One Plus Partnership Limited Office contributes to quality of life improvements and showcases the potential of upcycling and recycling in the design industry.
